Bridal Editorial – A journey around the world inside the Tropenhaus Berlin
It’s been one of photographer Anja Schneemann’s longterm dreams to shoot an editorial inside a tropical greenhouse. To find the perfect location proofed to be quite difficult since tropical greenhouses that don’t just look like giant conservatories but also dispose of an appealing architecture, are scarce in Germany.
The Berlin Tropenhaus located in Berlin-Dahlem checked (alsmost) all of our boxes – a variety of exotic plants, a magnificent architecture and a facility which creates the illusion of standing in open nature rather than inside a tropical greenhouse. Those requirements resulted in the most important decorational element already existing in large quantities.
I developed themes in accordance with the different types of Flora. We then chose bridal dresses and accessories to go along. Delecate layers of tulle and floral lace created a hint of romance and bohemian feel, fitting the theme and atomizing an organic charm. With cut-outs, beads and rhinestones the dresses themselves added to the Interpretation of elegance on a new Level.
An abundance of elaborate flower arrangements complemented the tropical feeling even more, while lightweight make-up and loosely done up or braided hair were reminiscent of a relaxing day on the beach.
