Crystal clear: Ice princess meets winter wedding

Winter. For many of us, it is a rather unloved time of year. Cold, dark, wet and uncomfortable - that's how we dismiss it and curl up on the couch during the dark season. We hunker down and wait until spring finally arrives. We are at least as good at giving winter the cold shoulder as it is at giving us the cold shoulder. But doesn't it actually deserve a second chance? We think: definitely! Winter has so much beauty to offer. Just think of the frost, branches and twigs covered in hoar frost that seem magically frozen. Or sparkling snowflakes, their thousands of tiny ice crystals illuminated by the winter sun. Small ponds dream under a wafer-thin layer of ice. Father Frost conjures up an infinite number of beautiful details in our world and inspired us to create a dream wedding shoot.

Just like in nature at this time of year, pastel light blue, delicate green, white and pink tones can be found in the styling. The styling is rather understated and has a minimalist look. Nevertheless, there was no complete lack of colourful accents. The groom wore red patent leather shoes and the bride dark, berry-coloured statement lips. Not only is this totally trendy, the colour can also be found in nature in winter. The wedding dress is just as modern. A two-piece consisting of a shimmering bluish tulle skirt and a lace bodice with three-quarter sleeves harmonises wonderfully with a crystalline winter wedding. The bride is transformed into an ice princess by the crystal-studded tiara. This wintry look can also be combined with a wonderfully soft woollen jumper and a matching scarf.

The frosty season doesn't exactly present us with a sea of flowers. Clearly, many plants are still in a deep winter sleep. Nevertheless, it is possible to create a wonderful bridal bouquet. The combination of Christmas roses, ranunculus, chequerboard flowers, even Fritillaria meleagris and hyacinths are perfect for a winter wedding. The delicate, restrained colours of the flowers support the minimalist winter atmosphere. You can also wear them as a small arrangement in your hair.

Wedding decorations and colours for winter

In keeping with the flair of the winter wedding, the table design is also kept rather minimalist. A chiffon tablecloth laid on the floor forms the basis. Expansive centrepieces were completely omitted. In their place are small glass vases with loosely inserted chequerboard flowers. White, narrow candles are an excellent combination. Different coloured crystals are used as candle holders, but also as ring bowls. Their interesting structure fits in perfectly with the wedding theme. Marble saucers are complemented by silver cutlery, while white napkins hang loosely over the edge of the table. The place cards can also be decorated with tiny crystals.

Crystalline wedding stationery

The geometric shapes of the stationery echo the crystalline wedding theme. White ink dances almost weightlessly over grey cardboard. The result is a flawlessly elegant look on menu cards, invitations and place cards, which is also surrounded by crushed silk chiffon.
