To ensure that the tablecloth remains well protected and the moss and mushroom arrangement is stable, we have chosen a simple but effective solution: two panes of glass serve as a base. Plain glass panes are suitable for this. Glass shelves from the IKEA range perfect - they are easy to clean and form the ideal surface for our autumnal decoration idea. Alternatively, you can also use acrylic or another transparent base, depending on what is available. The forest conjures up its colours and shapes directly on your table and transforms it into a little piece of nature.
Moss, branches and mushrooms: how to create autumnal natural materials
The basis for this autumnal table decoration is a flat bed of fresh moss, which we have gently spread over the glass plates. With its vibrant green colour, the moss brings a touch of living forest to the table and exudes an earthy, forest-like fragrance. We draped mushrooms of different sizes, colours and shapes on top, which we collected on a walk through the autumn forest. Even though not all of them are edible, they enrich the decoration with their unique, natural beauty.
To add even more variety to the arrangement, we have added small twigs and branches to perfectly round off the atmosphere. The mixture of vibrant green, soft beige tones and intense brown nuances blends together harmoniously and makes it feel as if the forest has moved right into the dining room.
Warm light accents for autumn: candles in amber yellow
Rustic elegance: black crockery and transparent glass
Candles are an essential part of autumnal table decorations. For this setting, we have opted for amber yellow twisted candles from our boutique, which create a warm, soft atmosphere and harmoniously emphasise the natural tones of the table. The twisted shape of the candles adds a playful touch to the look and matches the organic shapes of the moss and mushrooms.
The crockery plays a decisive role in this table setting. For this look, we used the black crockery „Celeste“ from Jars Ceramiste from France, which is finished with a deep black effect glaze. Das Silver-coloured cutlery complements the setting without overpowering the warm, autumnal tones. In keeping with this, we have chosen the Hobnail jars and Carafe from Klimchi in transparent. With their classic shape and hobnail-like structure, they gently catch the light and add a subtle touch of elegance to natural table decorations.
