The 2026 Collection in the Making — A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Magnolias on Silk

We deliberately sought out this feeling for the new 2026 collection. We wanted to create atmospheres that endure, that are timeless and at the same time further sharpen the design aspirations of our brand. This process resulted in two independent but interlinked concepts: La Mer du Soir and Rêve du Rivage. Two worlds that each have their own attitude - calm, clear, precise - and yet share the same core.

THE BEGINNING OF EVERY COLLECTION - A MOMENT OF SILENCE.

In this blog article, we take a look behind the scenes of the Reference Masterclass 2025, showing how one idea becomes two collections - supported by lines, light and the conviction that good design is timeless.

Both collections were developed as the design basis for the annual Reference Masterclass. Photographers, videographers, florists, wedding planners and selected service providers come together for a workshop lasting several days in the south of France.

As a partner of the Reference Masterclass, we have been developing table worlds for three years that open up space for creativity and set aesthetic impulses that resonate far beyond the moment. For the Masterclass 2025 - in close collaboration with Stephanie von WEP in Provence and Laetizia from Floresia - two collections that have been equally characterised by their view of Provence and our characteristic aesthetic.

In the beginning there was the location Coquillade itself: the light travelling over the hills, the gentle alternation of stone, greenery and expanse, the unobtrusive sophistication of the grounds. We developed the first design approaches from this calm, natural force.

Initially, inspired by the name of the coquillade - little shells - we thought of moss installations and organic shell shapes. But even after the first designs, we realised: This direction is beautiful, but it follows trends too closely with the moss installations, not the timelessness we are looking for.

So we reduced. We looked for materials that remain. For textures that speak for themselves. The velvet tablecloth in a deep, anthracite colour was one of the first building blocks. Cotton velvet, sensual and warm, covers the table like a soft evening sky. 

Added to this were the Linen napkins in moss green, that set a fresh, clear accent, like seaweed carried to the shore by the waves. .

The setting was complemented by the collection Taormina from Costa Nova, whose lively glaze is reminiscent of gently lapping waves on the beach and lends the arrangement a natural movement. The cutlery Gustave of Sabre added subtle ivory-coloured elegance - a reminiscence of shell sheen without becoming maritime.

LA MER DU SOIR is our interpretation of a design that emerges from lines - from architectural calm, clear proportions and a natural light that shows the selected materials in their characteristic qualities. It is a concept that does not need to be loud to make an impact.

WHY WE DESIGN: CLARITY, TIMELESSNESS, ATTITUDE

For us, collection development means taking a stand.
We are not designing the 2026 collection according to trend colours or passing fashions. 

That's why we scrutinise every design on the basis of three questions:

1. Is it timeless?
2. Is it aesthetically clear? 
3. Does it endure in terms of design and emotion?

This attitude is the basis of our sustainable event design. Not as a marketing idea, but as a conviction. You can feel it in every decision at LA MER DU SOIR - from the material to the colour scheme.

WE DESIGN COLLECTIONS LIKE ATMOSPHERES - CONSCIOUSLY, PRECISELY AND WITH A VIEW TO YEARS, NOT MONTHS.

We design with the aim of ensuring that a setting remains valid not only today, but also in five years' time. For us, timelessness is not an aesthetic coincidence, but a consciously designed state: reduced, clear, structured. At the same time, we make sure that a collection is emotionally moving - not loudly, but quietly, through atmosphere rather than effects.

The selection of our materials follows this standard. We look for textures that are full of character without being overbearing. For colours that create harmony instead of demanding attention. This approach protects the moment from the fast pace and gives it relevance, both creatively and emotionally.

The second collection 2026, RÊVE DU RIVAGE, inspired by the Château La Tour Vaucros, opens up a completely different world. If LA MER DU SOIR was born in the vastness of the Luberon, then this concept is a summer morning in Provence. Pastel, light, airy, feminine. Romantic, fresh, „gardeny“, as the mood board so precisely describes it.

Pistachio-coloured stripes, which draw a soft pattern on table linen and stationery, bring a gentle, wave-like dynamic to the table decoration.

Butter yellow, peach and dusky pink that flow into each other like soft watercolour surfaces. Flowers that look as if they have just opened in the first light of day.

For this table, we opted for the Rosa collection from Costa Nova. Its flower-like rim, reminiscent of fanned-out petals, adds a soft, feminine elegance to the overall look.

Das Sobor cutlery from Herdmar adds a sculptural touch with its gently twisted handles - striking but not dominant. A subtle accent that emphasises the feminine line of the arrangement.

RÊVE DU RIVAGE tells of those moments when you dream of a day in the garden in Provence. 

THE LEITMOTIF OF THIS COLLECTION IS: LINES - TWISTED, WAVY, STRAIGHT.

RÊVE DU RIVAGE takes up the language of movement: Lines that flow, turn or remain completely still. They appear at various points in the concept like a gentle rhythm that holds the design together without imposing itself.

Whether LA MER DU SOIR or RÊVE DU RIVAGE - both 2026 collections stem from the same creative approach: the desire to not only make rooms beautiful, but to give them meaning. Not decoration for the sake of effect, but design that moves people.

Timelessness instead of effects - this idea characterises both collections and connects them at their core.

For us, selecting the collections for 2026 is more than just an aesthetic project. It is a process of decisions, light and materiality - and the courage to discard, revise or rethink approaches.

At the same time, it is an invitation to look at event design differently: less as decoration, more as mood. Less as a concept, more as an atmosphere.

And it gives an insight into the way we work:
How much time we spend finding the right mood; how we not only look at materials but feel them; how we shift proportions, rebalance colours and rework entire setups when they don't feel atmospherically right.
