Wedding at Castle Bensberg in Germany

A romantic wedding at a castle in Germany

It must have been love that provoked elector Johann Wilhelm to build a new castle for this wife. The Bensberg castle, finished in 1711, was created by a Venetian architect and served as a hunting château for the elector. Today the grand building does no longer host primarily royal pates, but a five star hotel. And exactly that scenery, created by love was perfect for our velvet themed wedding shooting. Hence the elegant appearance of this wedding castle in Germany, we then decided to go with a dusty blue color palette.

Schloss Bensberg is a very beautiful and exclusive wedding venue for getting married in Germany.

Styling of bride and groom

The styling seems vernally and fresh. The bride is wearing a dress with a tulle skirt and a corsage top made of precious lace. Her beautiful, floor-length veil, that is also rimmed with fine lace, fits perfectly with the look. Loosely done up hair, with a few strands falling out of the updo, paired with a subtle make up for a natural look. Alternatively you can opt for a hairband instead of a veil to give your styling the finishing touch. You may choose the band according to the color of your jewelry. With this intention, we gave her a hairband with small golden blossoms to go with the bride’s delicate golden necklace.

The velvet wedding theme is adapted in the groom’s styling once more. He is wearing a fine velvet bow-tie that matches the dusty blue of his suit.

A velvet wedding theme in a dusty blue color palette

The fresh, minimalistic feeling which we see in the styling is mirrored in the decoration. On a white tablecloth three small centerpieces have been arranged with golden candle sticks in different heights and golden cutlery. And the menus have been placed on the folded napkins. A delicate dusty blue velvet ribbon holds this arrangement in place and adds another detail to our velvet wedding theme. The elegant, white wedding cake has also been decorated with blue details to match the velvet wedding theme. The creme color found in the chair cushions harmonizes effortlessly with the color of the tall candles. The romantic ceremony takes place outdoors to catch the stunning setting of this german wedding castle called Schloss Bensberg. Amongst a wedding arch made of airy fabric and decorated with a dreamy flower garland makes saying YES that much more special.

You can find the spring-time fresh crispness also in the floristry. White, green and soft peach tones are dominating the floral accents of the wedding, since apple blossom, clematis, peonies and lilac can be detected in the bridal bouquet as well as the small centerpieces and the boutonnieres. Those have been arranged on a golden tray on dusty blue velvet. The bride’s dreamy bouquet is accessorized with velvet ribbons and the flower garland, which decorates the wedding arch, is another special eye-catcher.

A wonderful detail of this stationary is a map. This map marked the location. It creates anticipation and curiosity with the guests so that they will want to find out what the place where you are getting married looks like. And here comes another element of the stationary into action. The handmade drawing of the wedding castle Schloss Bensberg serves a foretaste of your wedding venue and rounds off the paper arrangement. The magical calligraphy in soft blueish tones allows for the wedding theme to peek through once more.
