We were actually there to work on a project at Villa Catureglio and then had a day off. Together with the photographers, we spontaneously decided to realise another project. What do you associate with getting married in Italy? For us, Italy and Tuscany in particular stands for gently rolling hills with olive groves, for good wine and exuberant celebrations in the open air and unagitated elegance. The colours are earthy and terracotta tones and the green of the olive trees dominate.
In addition to elements that tell the story of the bride and groom, a coherent wedding design should always take into account the special features of the surroundings. Colours, textures and mood are elements that should be reflected in the wedding design.
Like many buildings in Tuscany, the imposing and at times almost monumental Villa Medicea la Ferdinanda was built from sandstone. In addition to the white of the whitewashed walls, there are various shades of cream. Villa Medicea la Ferdinanda is situated on a hill and is surrounded by extensive olive groves.
That's why we opted for natural materials and textures for the wedding design. A white table runner made of delicate crinkle silk flows gently over the white table made of forged iron. Handmade ceramic plates with gold rims in an organic design harmonise with the gold cutlery.
Wedding floristry
The centre of the wedding table is adorned with a ribbon of olive branches, into which prickly pears, grapes, pomegranates and grasses that we picked along the way have been incorporated instead of flowers. Things found in nature can also be used to create a great and, above all, natural floral concept. In this way, the floristry not only reflects the colours of the location and the surroundings, but also fits in wonderfully with a wedding in Italy.
Bridal styling for two brides
When same-sex couples get married, they are still often asked who has the role of the woman and who has the role of the man. This stereotype is still in many people's minds. Yet most couples don't have any specific roles at all. For our two brides, there were of course two gorgeous wedding dresses. The styling should also reflect naturalness and elegance at the same time. We therefore opted for dresses by Israeli designer Adi Shlomo. Her designs are feminine and romantic, luxurious and elegant. Simply perfect for a wedding in Tuscany. The open hair adds a casual touch to the bridal styling.
